1940s WPA Woman in Red Beret Oil Painting by Anne Graile Helioff 

This lovely 1940s portrait woman oil painting is by Anne Graile Helioff 1910-2001 was an American painter and collage artist of English birth.

A native of Liverpool, Helioff studied at the Art Students League of New York and the Hans Hofmann School of Art in New York City and others. Helioff won numerous awards and honors throughout her career, and her work was featured in solo and group exhibitions both in the US and abroad.

This beautifully executed painting is housed in a silver leaf frame. The frame measures 20-1/4" tall by 16-3/4" wide. The painting is unsigned but it was acquired from an estate that had the works of Helioff. In fact, "Helioff" is penciled on the back.

It's in superb condition and one of my favorite paintings from my personal collection!
