19th Century Jos. Heinrichs Techau Tavern, San Francisco Teapot

From my personal collection, a rare 19th century handled teapot or chocolate pot from the Techau Tavern, San Francisco. Techau Tavern was a big, fancy joint that had three different locations in downtown San Francisco in its lifetime. It was established in 1900 on Mason Street near Powell, then destroyed by the 1906 earthquake.

This wonderful hammered teapot was manufactured by the famous Joseph Heinrichs and is stamped on the base. It measures 5-3/4" long with the handle and stands 4-1/4" tall.

It is in excellent condition and can be used for an individual serving.

A perfect serving piece with a lot of history!
