Antique Mark Hopkins Hotel Crested Oval Tray

Beautiful 1920s silver plate tray from the historic, landmark Mark Hopkins Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill.

This fancy tray has tab handles that bear the hotel's monogrammed crest on either side. It has been professionally polished by a silversmith and has a gleaming bright patina! Light signs of surface scratches and a couple of tiny spots of silver wear.

It measures 12-1/2" by 7-1/2". Manufactured by Gorham and dates to the hotel's opening of 1926. Stamped, "Mark Hopkins".

This piece was acquired from the estate of Robert Yuen, a fourth generation San Franciscan, and a lifelong collector of hotelware.
