Large c. 1900 Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco Crested Bowl

A very large and rare c. 1900 silver plated serving bowl from the legendary Fairmont Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill.

This spectacular bowl bears the old double F crest on the side. It has fancy detail throughout, including the handles. It has polished up beautifully and has a sparkling bright patina. 

The bowl can be used for serving large dishes, or makes a wonderful fruit bowl.

It measures 12" from handle to handle. The opening diameter is 9" and it stands 4-1/4" tall. The bowl is very heavy.

This is quite a rare piece by Reed & Barton that pre-dates 1928. It is stamped, "Fairmont Hotel" on the underside.
