Rare 19th C. French Palais Royal Gilt Metal Mother of Pearl Shell Large Hanging Light

An extraordinarily rare 19th century Palais Royal French gilt metal and mother of pearl hanging light fixture.

The domed shade is outstanding with huge mother of pearl shells. The shade has a fancy openwork border.

The shade measures 14" in diameter and 9-1/5" tall excluding electric fittings. Fixture holds one bulb and it in working order.

There is several feet of ceiling chain wrapped in cloth.
