Rare Large 1870s English Handpainted Artist Painter's Box

This absolutely extraordinary, rare large English box dates to c. 1870s and was a painter's box. The painter would have kept their art supplies in the box.

The heavy footed metal box is entirely hand painted on all sides and bears the artist's name. The artist most likely painted the box. The box has gilt painting and the top has a gorgeous floral scene. This looks beautiful against the black painted background.

There is a key hole, but no key. The box measures 12-1/4" long by 9" wide and stands 6" tall. It is in pristine condition and amazing in person.
