Vintage Hotel Tropicana, Las Vegas Condiment Holder

This vintage condiment holder from the Hotel Tropicana, Las Vegas dates to a time when Las Vegas has its old elegant and the Tropicana was the place to be.

In 1972, Sammy Davis Jr. became the first Black shareholder in a Las Vegas hotel. The famous crooner and Rat Pack member placed his bet on the Tropicana, the casino that had become a regular haven for 1960s group of performers led by Frank Sinatra. The celebrated casino closed its doors this week after 67 years of history on the Strip.

This gorgeous silver plate condiment holder has a bright, sparking patina. It measures 7-1/2" in diameter and stands approx. 2-1/2" tall. It would have been used to hold tabasco sauce and other bottles with seafood in the plate section.

Manufactured by Reed & Barton, this dates to 1956. The hotel's name is stamped on the bottom.
